What's on this page
We’re excited to introduce Slack integration in Advocu — a powerful step forward for community managers, workspace owners, and DevRel teams looking to better understand, engage, and empower their developers.
Slack has become the default hub for many developer and product-focused communities. With this release, you can now track engagement across your Slack community chapter, surface important metrics, and use real data to guide your community’s evolution.
You can even connect multiple Slack workspaces, for example, a closed workspace for your developer ambassador program and a public Slack for your product or technology, and manage them all from a single platform.

Why It Matters for DevRel, Developer Marketing & Community Programs
This integration unlocks a new analytics dashboard that connects your Slack workspace with Advocu’s member profiles and activity streams. It’s built to support:
- Developer ambassador programs – Track contributions directly from Slack and match them to individual member profiles. Thanks to this integration it would be easy and transparent to identify top contributors and engaging threads across your workspaces.
- Slack community chapters – Understand what makes each chapter thrive, and compare engagement across different spaces.
- Dev-focused marketing teams – Gain visibility into active channels and track what content sparks conversation.
With these insights, you can connect, find allies, and inspire your community to create, share, and solve problems together.
How It Works
For Admins & Workspace Owners
Admins can now integrate Slack via the Program Settings > Integrations panel. Once connected, Advocu will:
- Sync channels, threads, and messages, with detailed Slack message counts and thread-level analytics.
- Show detailed metrics on your program dashboard, including most active channels, engaging threads, and daily or hourly message activity.
- Let you filter and compare engagement across timeframes or channels.
You can monitor performance and adjust your DevRel tactics with ease, no manual tracking or external tools required.
For Members and Users
Members can authenticate their Slack account and link it to their Advocu profile with one click. This allows:
- Verified activity matching, so users are credited for what they actually do in Slack.
- Thread and channel contributions to appear in their public and internal timelines.
- Visibility into how active and impactful they are, helping them connect, exchange tips, and grow their profile.

What You Can Track
With the new Slack integration, you’ll get access to a growing list of tracked Slack activity, including:
- Message volumes per channel, workspace, and user
- Thread-level tracking with named context, you can track messages, threads, and popular conversations
- Top engaged contributors and trending conversations
- Daily and hourly snapshots of Slack usage
- Filter engagement data by time range or channel and run easy data comparisons
Whether you want to monitor a paid plan workspace or a free developer community, you get real-time tracking and actionable insights to take your community to the next level.

From Insight to Impact
This integration doesn’t just collect data, it helps your organization:
- Surface important contributors from Slack activity
- Inform team leaders about engagement patterns
- Build better incentives and recognize rising talent
- Understand what helps your community thrive
With this release, you’re not just building a community, you're building a smarter one.
