Why We Introduced Badges & Experience Pathways

Community managers and program leads told us they wanted better tools to recognize contributions, motivate ambassadors, and align recognition with their broader marketing efforts.     • Create standalone milestone badges for key achievements, or design multi-stage paths where members earn points and unlock badges step by step.
    • Example: a Speaker Path where badge earners collect points only from activities from “Speaking” Activity Type.

  1. Points unlock progress
    • Members earn points through contributions and see their journey visualized with progress bars.
    • As points accumulate, new badges from a certain path become available, encouraging ongoing participation and keeping users motivated.
  2. Customize by tags and pathways
    • Filter by activity tags to design specialized paths, such as “Mentor,” “Content Creator,” or “Open Source Contributor.”
    • This flexibility supports multiple gamification marketing strategies at once, tailored to your target audience.

    • Achieved badges are displayed directly on member profiles.
